Great isn't it ? !

Fresh seed (?), obviously plenty of moisture, sown later than sometimes recommended; Bingo!  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

:)  wonderful when they finally come through isn't it and you have to then weed in between them as the weed are normally inches high by the time they show their green shoots  ;)

Looking at that photo I thinK you may have hit on something. Sow them in crooked rows and it confuses the slugs.  :D :D :D

i have been banging on for years that people sow parsnip seed far too early,  if the ground is cold the seed will not germinate and if its in the ground a long time and wet it will just rot.
I always plant my seed as late as possible, plenty of it in pre-watered drills and bingo 90% come up....
Death OR Cake ???

Well said Cooperman  :)

I'm the same. I sowed 4 rows of Hollow Crown in the 3rd week of April, covered with fleece and they are racing away now. Sowed 4 rows of Tender and True on 6th May, and they are starting to come through already  :)
Cheers, Comfortably Numb.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long ..........................

My Hollow Crowns and Tender and True are nowhere to be seen despite being sown on 9th April, scattered with a few slug pellets and covered in Enviromesh. No sign of germination at all

I wonder whether to give up on them ????????

Have they been kept moist at all times? (I know enviromesh allows the passage of water through it but it still keeps some of it off and there hasn't been much rain about for the last month or so in many parts of the country.)
