Fig Tree planting

I have been given 2 fig tree plants in pots, soon I will be planting out in the allotment.
So far what I have done is grass seeded a section of plot (going to make this dedicated for fruit trees).
Will dig two holes and line with paving slabs on edges.
What I need to know is, do I stake the fig trees?Why I have grassed the end bit is I love my petrol mower.
