my grand-kids thought it highly amusing the last time they had a sleep-over.
They were rolling around in fits of giggles

Not in house livingroom/bedroom/kitchen.

   and why not?

My 'spare' cuke has ended up growing up to the curtain rail in the spare bedroom (where they were all started). The ones that went outside to the greenhouses look as if they are dying so I haven't the heart to move this one as it's fruiting nicely, but it's now 8ft tall  ;)

Wish I'd kept one indoors as well! My 2 in the greenhouse are both still trying to answer their eternal question "Shall I live or shall I die?"

I hold my breath every time I look at them, especially as they seem a bit more alive than dead at the moment (note that this is nothing about actually getting anything to eat so far!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Next year I've decided to grow 1 early variety of tomato (Prob Red Alert) in there as well.
That way I'd get early toms to go with the cukes. I can bin it once the g/house ones start fruiting....it sounds a cunning plan ...........but we'll see  ::)

You might have to have a re-think about the toms Mum!

Attached pic (taken today) is just 2 Red Alert plants in a 4'X2' coldframe which were planted out 4 weeks ago about 8" tall - as you can see they will soon be escaping in all directions!

(Sorry - back to cukes now?)

I've trained my cukes up my Munty frame, including side shoots. Can't remember varieties but most are eating types (don't care for Marketmore). I support the side shoots as well since they'll be heavy with cukes. Pretty soon my neighbor will be running when she sees me coming with cukes again this year.  :D all the cukes I get are monsters.

Definite must do for cukes is water them well every 2nd day.
