When to plant out blackcurrant & blackberry on lottie?

About 6 weeks ago I bought a blackcurrant & blackberry which were in pots from B & Q. They have been outside in their pots since buying them. They are both in leaf. The blackcurrant has a few berries on it. I am wanting to plant them onto my allotment but not sure when to do this. I am in the south of the UK and it seems we may be getting a frost later on in the week. Should I wait until mid May before planting them out.

They are hardy, if anything their roots are more vulnerable to frost sat outside in their pots than sat outside in the ground.  We bought and planted six fruit bushes about four weeks ago and put them straight into the ground.  A scatter of BF&B into the bottom of the hole, a good soak and they've settled in nicely.  I wouldn't keep them in pots through the summer, you'll be watering them continuously.

In general, a hardy plant bought in a pot can be planted straight away unless in the depths of a winter freeze.
