Bullying hens
« on: April 14, 2011, 11:23 »
I had a girl who was sick so I removed her from the flock (in case it was catching).  She recovered after being on her own for about 5 days.  When I put her back in with the others, some of them really started bullying her and now she won't leave the house and will only get off the perch to eat and drink when all the others go outside.  Any suggestions?

Hi.
I just had exactly the same thing (see "poorly chuck" thread) and the same bullying result.
All I did was re-introduce her to the others whilst throwing green goodies and other tasty morsels in, this seemed to take their minds off her and then she seemed to be accepted back. May not work all the time but it's worth a try.

How about letting the poorly chuck go into the next doors garden,  I hear the neighbours are very friendly
