Did anyone read the article in today's Scottish Sun re keeping chickens in the back garden by Peter Seabrook? I think everyone is now going to rush out and buy 1 day old chick.  Not good at all  >:(  >:(

The worst bit is that is best to start off with chicks???? and if you want to breed you need a cockerel!!! Oh dear  :(

There is just so much more to keeping chickens than the basics they mentioned in that article.  Chicks are a lot of work without a mother hen.  This newspaper wrote irresponsibly. 
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

A good way to start is with chicks because they can be sexed so you get all hens.

Really??? Just really??? Well if that were true there wouldn't be so many of us wondering and asking each other what sex they think our chicks are!!
