50g of peas!
« on: March 17, 2011, 21:57 »
Finally took some me time tonight and have been browsing through a DT Brown catalogue that someone gave me....

I'm very tempted to try growing Petit Pois (my fave peas) this year and have found some called Calibra.

They are sold in packs of 50g... now my pea brain has no idea how many rows and of what length I'll get from 1 packet.... I don't want to go mad (cue DD's pea pics  ;)) but a decent crop would be nice.

Help
Snappy

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.

There is an average of 3000 - 6000 seed per kg, that's 3 - 6 per gram.

So - you'll have between  150 & 300 seed.

At 12 per feet, (I hope you've seen the recommended seed spacing before), that's a 12 1/2 - 25 ft row. With petit pois, you should be looking at the longer length.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Had a quick poke through the sellers of said seed and DT Brown seem to be a lot cheaper than others, so go for it!
