Very nice plot there - congratulations!

Just a thought; if you can square off the rounded edges, and also reclaim a bit at the top near the compost heap(?), and some of the central path, which the other plot holders on the right seem to 'wandered' over, you may even get another 5%-10% of area!

Another few square yards of plot gives you a few rows of beans for the same money!

Lucky you, being able to start straight away, and I hope it works well for you!

This is our plan  :D

We have also put in a query with the council because according to the plans (see below, Plot 5) they initially sent us, our plot go right to the hedge at the top of the picture. If it does then we are really well sorted.

Just waiting to hear back.

It was the first thing I asked the gentleman who owns plots 6,7 and 8  and he told us there used to be but not any more. But one of the first jobs we have planned is to fence it in.

I'm also about to rabbit-proof my new plot (which looks like a weed-wasteland-wonderland compared to yours!) - any top tips? Apparently we get deer too, but I don't think I'm up to putting up a 6 foot fence!!

Kajazy

Our plan is to put posts in then fix chicken wire to these with the bottom either buried or fixed to half buried scaffold boards.

Unless members here, have better ideas.

Less work if you put chick wire flat on the ground instead of digging a trench.
They come up to the fence and try to dig under it but hit the chicken wire layed flat on the ground. You must wire the 2 sections of chicken wire together with no gap.

How far along the ground should I go (roughly).

SWMBO has received an email from the nice lady at the council.

She says that the marked area around plot 5 is actually ALL OURS  :D, apart from a path that's needed for access to plot 9.

Whitewolf!

Great result, they'll love you for it, bit it's yours! Go for it!

More than a few beans there - more like a double-clump of courgettes and a few carrots as well!

Actually, spuds are preferable because you'll be starting thattop  bit from scratch! (can you sell couch grass on the black market...) ;0)

You're still lucky anyway!

Quick update.......

Well the Plot had a visit from the Council Lady and her Surveyor, who proceeded to mark out our actual plot.

As you can see from the picture below, our plot is inside the pink boundary with the dotted pink line showing where we originally thought our plot ended.

We are well happy.

Let the fun begin

that is a result i would see how you get on with the original area because it is your first year and then maybe get the other section ready for next year unless you are feeling really fit :)

That sounds a very sensible idea to me.... a little at a time and easy does it.  ;)

How wonderful to have room to expand!!
