Tomatos

Does anyone put the pots with them in in the growbag?  I've noticed this in a greenhouse on my allotment. The only reason I can think of for doing this would be to have something to stand the canes in.  Other than this, I can't see how it would be of any benefit.  Wouldn't the pots stifle the growth of the roots??

Am I right in thining Toms have 2 types of roots ? A surface nutrient feeder system and a series of deep drinkers ?

There fore the pot helps establish extra depth for the plant to grow better if my conspiracy theory is correct and can give support to a cane but this is not the purpose of the bottomless pot/ring culture growing system.
Stop food waste, pick your own fresh every day
