I am chitting my potatoes in an unheated greenhouse, is this OK.  We are forecasted -2 this weekend here in Leicester. Shall I move them indoors or will they be OK?

That's where mine are. Just chuck something over them over night if you're concerned. Bit of fleece, old towels, anything.

I had mine in the frost free greenhouse before I moved them, and they survived on night at -7o when Mrs Digger unplugged the heater!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I doubt -2 outside will be below freezing inside (but having a Max/Min thermometer would give you some comfort about how much insulation your greenhouse provides). Mine gives about 4C above minimum outdoor temperature on prolonged cold spells, and for an overnight frost (where the nights are not too long, and the frost does not persist into the day) the benefit is more, particular as the nights get shorter - less time for the greenhouse to equilibrate with the outdoor temperature.

If the greenhouse is at home anything to cover them during a cold period will do, news paper, cloth etc, you can nip out in the morning and remove it . If the greenhouse is on plot try to use white garden fleece, then if you can't get to the plot the spuds will not be left in the dark.

That's where my shallots are
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
