we made ours  :D just VERY simple rectangular box, but higher at the back than the front, made from 1/2 inch ply.  piece of Onduline roofing. Cut a square for the door, and hinge it in place with a small bathroom bolt. Simples  :D It should be doable for less than £50

Dont use felt roofing, or fancy strips/planks/shiplap wood, as cleaning and keeping mite free is essential. The fewer joins the better for cleaning.

Dont forget some decent sized holes for ventilation.

I made this one out of scrap that was on the allotment.

Looks rough and ready but is weather proof and big enough to stand up in.  I have since added a large purpose built run to it and even thats going to be extended soon!!

Yes, it is very easy, mine was made from  external ply, most of which I got the timber merchant to cut the lengths etc, two pieces of 8x4, a few 3x2's and a bag of screws. Design was to make it easy to clean, and with ply less nooks n crannys for mr + mrs mite to live, all the joins have been sealed, the roof was onduline and there is weld mesh under this to stop any vermin entering, took me one day to build....

I am about to modify the door, gonna put a sliding one on with a auto opener on it for the summer months.
