Been to our favourite shop today wilkos :D and brought my seed spuds for this year last year i grew,Pentland Javelin and Rooster with great succes but i opted for Kestrel,Duke of york and Rocket Ive heard mixed reviews on Rocket tasteless etc is this true!!! :ohmy:

Thanks DD reading into that then they dont seem as bad as ive heard,to be honest i didnt think pj had a good flavour but i suppose thats my opinion!

rockets were ok - grew very easily and prolifically but didnt have an amazing taste. But they were fine in a potato salad with a good dressing. But boiled with butter they were so-so.

Same as Jonajo. fast grower and good crops but indifferent taste. I decided to grow Rocket one year after a farm down the road said they gave a very early crop, which is what they want so they can charge a premium for new potatoes. Don't have that 'new potato' taste though.

I would also agree. Wouldnt put PJ anywhere near the top of my list. In terms of taste charlotte in my opinion is far superior to Pj.  Nicola is fantastic too.
