Spineless Raspberrys
« on: January 21, 2011, 12:48 »
Can anyone reccomend any summer and autum raspberry varietys that have spineless stems.
We really like them and the kids especially do, but last time the girls had lots of tiny spines in their fingers after picking.
I would really like them to be able to pick freely without the worry of tears later on on the night.

I'm growing "Brice" a spineless variety I got from Dobies. I thought they tasted nice, in comparison to shop bought berries quite large but paler in colour. Although an autumn variety last year, their first, I was picking every other day from end of July until the frost got to them mid October. My daughter certainly enjoyed picking and eating them.
Paul, Andrew, Kevin, Galen - My parents got bored of normal names in the end!
