I have had a really good year - my first proper year at the lottie in Bedford - although some things have not worked that well.
Spuds had liitle holes in them, well lots of holes really, put into a deep trench with manure.
Pea's died death just after they pooped their heads above soil level.

But cucumbers and toms in the greenhpouse just kept coming, peppers not so good.
Courgetts non stop as well, broad beans a good crop, leeks wonderful - in fact went down yesterday and lifted 30 of them.
Onions and garlic great....

Yep, been a really good year. All dug over now with a covering of manure so roll on February!!

2010 was a bit of a no starter for me, so very enthusiastic for 2011. Going to treat myself to tickets to the Edible Garden show as my new year pressie in the morning

Met a very old friend today who was an early tenant on our site in 2009.George and I go back a long time and we have always taken the mick out of each other.I have a plot not to far from his .So when we meet on site or in a pub for a drink we slag each other off.
I told him today that I had built a raised bed for my asparagus and that I need about two cubic metres to fill it up .Another friend said why dont you go around site and take a bucket full off each plot and and nobody will know the difference And i said to George "why dont I dig all the two metres out of Your plot and you can tell your wife that the woman who does not wear a bra built a water feature for you.No he did not wish me a happy new year or buy me a drink.I really cant under stand his problem.Can you?
