Why doesn't somebody open up a topic on the chatting forum about fishing - I'm sure there are lots of people elsewhere on the forum that don't venture into the chicken section who would like to join in  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Hi jinty1911

The 16 ft bass boat I like to take to Luce Bay just below you, I have fished that rouns Stranear for last 40 years. Had holiday this year up Luce bay but no boat bass had not arived and pollack fishing poor.  Also fished north of you a lot on the Clyde and the Lochs round there.

We spent a couple of weekends camping at Portpatrick (lovely place) didnt catch anything but did get our tackle bag and bait stolen in the middle of the nite.  :(  :(

back onto the topic of chickens some people don't recommend feeding them ones that have been dyed.

Please keep this topic to do with chickens, thanks xx

Is there some way you can 'cleanse' your offal-raised maggots before feeding them to the hens?  For example I have compost worms that I feed to my pet fish (yes I realise this is ironic in this thread).

Anyway the recommended cleansing treatment is to take them out of the compost and keep them on clean, damp bread or bran for 24 hours before feeding to the fish.  Cleans out their digestive system and makes them less likely to pollute the water.

I wonder if this would work with maggots?

All maggots are cleaned before they leave the bait farm , i believe they put them through clean sawdust to dry them off. A dirty sticky maggot escapes from an open bait box in no time.
