centiflor tomatoes
« on: November 19, 2010, 10:13 »
hi all :-)
has anyone got any experience of growin these kinds of centiflor tomatoes or any centiflors, in fact?

http://www.realseeds.co.uk/centitomatoes.html

i thought i'd  try them this year because they seem quite interestin to have around when they're growin, and because they seem very easy to care for and i'm a relative newbie with only a couple of years experience so far :-)

I have grown them for the last two years and I am very pleased with them, it does what it says on the tin. I got them from ' Realseeds ' also.

are these the ones that are anti inflammtory?  Not grown them but someone I know with arthritis grows the special ones that don't cause his condition to flare up

I don't know if they are anti-inflammatory but they are quite sweet and low in acid. I grew the yellow variety ' Millefleur ' as it was then, ' Yellow Centiflor ' now. It took a little while to get into it's stride but once there it was amazing, hundreds of little pear shaped toms and it was the last to finish.

As they are exposed to the ' elements ' outdoor tomatoes are a little harder and more concentrated than the pampered indoor types, especially if planted in the veg patch rather than pots or growbags. Blight has been a real problem these last few years though, less so for indoor types, so best be prepared !
