On sunday we decide to pick a few sloes along a farmer friends field, and ended up with 4kgs picked in half an hour. That's how much there was!  :blink:

Anyway, we've made some into sloe gin, some into sloe vodka and we still have loads left, so went 'fishing' on the net for more recipes and found a cracking web site dedicated to sloes.....

If the mods' allow us to recommend other webs, seach for 'sloes.biz'

There's chutneys, gins with coffee beans in, or cocoa beans. The list just goes on and on 

P.S. what's the difference between sloes and 'bullaces'??

Have u tried sloe wine?   If desparate just buy some more gin - you can never have too much sloe gin!!!!!

Will have to look into buying gin and vodka in bulk, by the GALLON at this rate.   

There's still sooooooooooo many sloe in that field.....

A bullace is a yellow/orange fruit, the same size-ish as a damson.  Sloe wine is a winner , but needs to be kept for two or three years to really be worth while.  Cheers,    Tony.
