hi, i have got a small 2kg feeder for my quials i have been using it for them since they were day olds and it worked fine with the chick crumb but since they have gone onto layers mash the feeder wont work properly i fill the feeder and it falls into the bottom ring bit they eat from but once they have eaten the bit from the ring the rest doesnt drop into the ring bit (dont know if that makes any sense) do i need a different feeder for layers mash or am i doing some thing wrong?

I would of thought that type of feeder would of been for pellets to be honest. I dint know if there  is a different type for mash, I think i'd just use a bowl

i thought as ive been looking for feeders for mash but cant find any! my only fear in using a bowl is they will stand and poop in it!

Does the feeder not have a screw at the top that adjust how high up the ring sits?
If it does, this might allow the mash to fall through to the feeder trough.

What about a trough type feeder, they have a guard over the top to stop them being stood in
