...DO NOT transplant carrots!

hubby decided he wanted to save the thinned out carrots and transplanted them into a bucket; obviouskly not very straight cos this is what happened

one good thing though, I could top and tail them with one hit

beat they still taste good!!!! I'd be happy with those!!! Mine were planted yesterday (baby variety) and i'll be ticking off the weeks (only 12 apparently) until i can eat a fresh carrot!!!!!

None will get from the garden to the kitchen i expect!!!

It all looks very familiar. Last year I had nice neat rows of evenly spaced carrots only to discover these small deformed things when I eventually dug them up.

I've got baby carrots in pots of compost in the greenhouse can iexpect the same or is it only if you transplant them??

Only if you transplant them. I suppose in theory if you transplant them and keep the roots straight when you replant then they should grow straight?
