i picked some chilis about 3 weeks ago lovely black ones and hung them to dry outside, the * have now started to turn red, which leads me to my predicament:- i have 2 plants full of lovely green chilis about 2 1/2 inches long like the bottom of an ice cream cone these have been like this for about 1 month now with no visible sign of the colour changing, i have no idea what variety they are however 1 says it should be yellow.
should i pick them or leave them longer?

Chillies are usually left to ripen on the plant and it can take some time.

Green is usually the unripe colour; the ripe colour will depend on which variety you have.

They can be eaten whilst still green but the flavour doesn't usually develop fully until they are completely ripe.
