Pear leaf - black spots
« on: July 01, 2007, 17:56 »
In our 12 month old 'orchard' we have 2 pear trees, and 1 of them has black spots over many of its leaves   :(  ? Any clues what it is, and how to cure ?

It's possible you have blackspot, as on roses. More likely you simply have fungus from all the excess rain. If you're not organic, you can buy a fungicide product and try to spray only the leaves and bark. If you're organic, make a spray of 1 part white vinegar to 4-5 parts water and spray on leaves and bark. Fungus tends to be alkaline so the vinegar should stop it cold from spreading.
