my broad beans have now got chocolate spot, and strawberries gone mouldy also, must be this warm wet weather, or do you think may have come in with the horse manure? i put a few tonnes of manure on the beds in spring.
anyone else with a similar problem?

this wet and semi warm weather is great for most types of fungi - i have field mushrooms growing at the side of my plot. i have alot of toadstools shooting up on the plot too.

i think, as a word of advice to less seasoned growers, this season looks as if it will remain wet and warm - and you should do your homework regards bacterial fungi etc that attack particular plants, crops, trees etc.

roses for example have had a great early start but are now starting to suffer from the damp conditions. i have started to treat particular plants before they get severe attacks - i would advise you do the same - before disease sets in.

i imagine that even the most pro organic gardener will resort to chemicals if it meant saving their most cherished plants (await gruff replies       )

if you have specific plant disorders - non veg - post in gen' gardening section and i am sure either myself or someone else can point you in the right direction re treatment options - forewarned is forearmed - so you really ought to take precautions now - before losses start occuring.
