What to sow?
« on: July 05, 2010, 09:54 »
Hi All,

Spent the weekend preparing my aquired plot. All ready to go now but I am wondering due to the time of year what I could still plant?

I will sow some winter veg but am I too late for any summer veg?

Probably a bit late for a lot of stuff but salad crops should be fine, get some lettuce, rocket, spring onion, radish seeds or starter plants like lettuce.
Not too sure about other stuff maybe beetroot or runner beans are worth a try,for the price of a few seeds its worth a go,some places selling seeds half price at the minute focus diy for one.
Good luck with the new plot.

I have only just planted Dwarf french beans out last week so they should be ok. You could try some potatoes for a late crop. I have seen some posts asking about planting them now.

As Maxie says seeds are cheap at the minute so give anything a try.  Good luck

Don't worry, you're about the 4th person in as many days who didn't know about the chart  :D

There's loads of info if you click on the Growing Help linky near the top left of the page, it's just that one tends to forget to have a browse there as well as on the forum (well, I forget, don't know about anyone else    )
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
