Couldn't resist Ken Muir's offer on strawbs and wondered if anyone has experience of this US variety?

I planted it this Spring and it is fruiting well with large, very red tasty berries.

Yippee! Might get a small crop in the early Autumn if I get them in soon....
I've alredy got Maras de Bois and Fandango and I'm not impressed with their first harvest this year. Would've thought the sun would sweeten them up a bit.....

Hi. I posted about my experiences with "Albion" strawberries on another "strawberry thread" a few days ago,  so forgive me for repeating stuff.
I bought 40 plants in the summer of 2008.
The bed wasn't available so I grew them on in pots and removed the flowers and runners.
I planted them out in the autumn of 2008.
The plants all grew to a decent size and had a reasonable amount of fruit June/Early July 2009.
They then produced at a much lower level through to September.
They only produced enough runners to give me 20 new plants which I grew on in pots and planted out in the autumn of 2009.
This year the original bed of 40 plants has produced less than the new bed of 20 plants and the fruit is much smaller, very much like a four or five year old bed of normal strawberries.
All conditions are the same.
My conclusion is that perpetual strawberries need to be replaced every year.
The trouble is they produce far fewer runners than ordinary plants.
The good bit is they produce fruit well into the autumn.
