Half-hearted Veg....
« on: June 25, 2010, 16:42 »
Hello Forum,

I haven't been on here for the best part of a year now... Ooops!!!

At the back end of last year we got our little puppy (ah!) and so our time was taken up with "bringing him up proper" over winter / spring. Which has meant that I haven't been as organised with my veg growing this year...

Anyway...... I have made a half hearted attempt at a few things, carrots / white onions (from bulbs) / strawberries & tomatoes.

The carrots are doing well - typical as they're my least favourite veg lol  ???  I'm not sure about my onion sets? The greenage doesn't seem to be standing up straight, and they seem to be all green and no bulb (I got impatient & pulled one up hee hee) Is this normal? I'm just watering with water, no veg food or anything

My strawberries were doing well until the devil dog thought they tasted nice and so ate them all while I wasn't looking  :tongue2: (not happy - even the green one's didn't make it!).

Now... my tomato plants (the bush type variety) just seem to be about 4 inches tall and have started growing yellow flowers  I think I have the smallest tom plants ever!

Anyone else ever had this problem??

Thanks!
I would never belong to a club that would have me as a member :-D

Hi Gemma, if you read around a bit you will find most people are having problems growing veg this year. :(

Pups don't help, I have my own terror in the garden. >:(

Any chance of pics in the pet section? :)
