I have just tried to vent sex the two non-quacking ducklings (they are all 5 weeks old). I didn't get a penis to pop out on either but instead a conical bump - am I missing something? I used Storey's and this video c0kqaA8balcfeature=related.

I tried at day olds and at 10 days but couldn't tell. I know that Sapphire is a girl as she has already started quacking (which doesn't surprise me as her mum as a gobby madame  ).

Any help from an experience duck sexer would be appreciated

Caralou i have tried vent sexing my babies all looked like girls!!!! LOL
but listening to there quacks only 3 out of 8 sounded like girls, i think it was Kate and her ducks that sent me a link to listen to the different quacks that girls and boys make, i think i got it right! Well i hope so as i sold 3 "Girls" tonight by their quacks!!!!!

I actually find them easier to vent sex when they are between 1 week and 2 as when they are tiny so is the penis and I worry about hurting them as you have to be pretty firm to be sure. After that their muscles get stronger which makes things harder. If you can only fond the bump sounds like you are lucky and have all girls!
