Ah, that reminds me, I've got a whole sack of last year's Sarpo Mira chitting away merrily in the shed. Really ought to do something about it.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

*Laughing hard here*
So glad to know I'm not the only one with potatoes still chitting patiently somewhere!!!
The chits look great!!! (Shame about the brown wrinkly lump they're growing on!)

Has anyone ever planted any of their wizened old specimens that had been chitting at the back of the shed and achieved half way decent results? I have gadzillions of em, seems a shame to waste em!

Although on saying that, I've already ordered some Kestrel Christmas seed spuds, but am tempted to chuck a few of my leftover Lord Rosebery's and Home Guards into the ground somewhere.... (maybe miles away from my Kestrels in case something goes blighty or wrong..

I'm annoyed I threw away the left over seed potatoes from this Spring that I did not have room for - they probably would have been fine to plant around-about now (although I think they were all main-crop)

Not sure about the ones I had from last year though ...

Anyways, an experiment for next year. It will be cheaper than buying Christmas-special seed potatoes
