i heard that you use a grease band but what exactly is that can i make one myself? how do i keep the ands from herding the aphids onto my plant ???

grease bands can be bought from garden centres and primarily  they are used for catching winter moths .
 you could spray for the aphid problem alternatively you could try and make your own band by securing a strip of material around the trunk and coat it with vaseline

I blasted the critters out of the plum tree with a hose then wound some wide sellotape around the trunk sticky side out for about a foot.
Next day the tape was completely covered with greenfly trying to get back to the branches.
GOT `EM  :D

very nice 8doubles the water pressure is so bad where i live i'd be better off using the watering can! the sticky tape idea sounds excellent :D thanks
