your all probably sick of hearing from me now. But i just wanted to share this. Im waiting for my chickens to start laying. I cant wait to get my first egg. I went to stroke one today and she squated down and put her wings up. Im sure someone told me that this is a sign they are nearly ready. Please tell me it cant be long now. Like i said sorry to go on but surely everyone remembers what its like to be waiting for their first egg.
1 dog -Chloe 1 cat - Oscar 2 hamsters - Flo and Tinkerbell 3 ferrets - Charlie, chip and rupert 3 light sussex - Madge, Henrietta and lucy-lou 2 black rocks - Peggy and Betty 1 puppy on the way i'm not mad i'm in love. :)

yes i think that is a sign that they are getting ready, someone with better know how on chickens will be along to yes or no

I went to stroke one today and she squated down and put her wings up.

She's getting in to the mating position. She thinks you're a cockerel, so squats. I've been told that when they do this it does mean they will will start laying eggs soon. So hopefully not long now! :)

yeay!
give it about a week or so and you'll be getting an egg! (can't guarantee it'll be a week, but you're definitely getting close!)

when Monica started laying, the day she laid her first egg she was so restless- kept walking backwards and forwards, squawking a lot  :ohmy: and going up into the nest box and back out.
oh, she really was fussy!
she laid her egg in the late afternoon.
 :lol:

oh i hope so im checking the nesting boxes way too much. Im convinced its just my luck i got dudds. Hahaha. Hopefully not long now. Will let you all know when they finally lay me one.
