Solway or Green Frog.
« on: May 26, 2010, 13:34 »
Hi,
I am supposed to be picking up some chickens on Saturday. Unfortunately yesterday my chicken coop arrived yesterday and I had to return it as it was so badly made.
So I am back online searching again today. Instead of a wooden one I am now thinking about an eco coop. Does any one have any experience of Green Frog or Solway chicken houses? I quite like the Solway chicken house with mesh floor.

Thanks

If i were paying that much id go for an igloo or a frodsham ark. Can you not build one yourself, they are easy ;)

I looked at some recycled plastic coups at the pig and poultry show - they had solid floors and were bigger than they looked on photographs (think they were solway ones) and I must admit they were brilliant, but the runs were not that big and the mesh whilst very stong had holes that were far to big.
Staffies are softer than you think.

we ve got a green frog and are very happy with it.  Comes flat pack but pretty easy to put together especially if you were into airfix or meccano!

Easy to clean and the hens seem happy with it.  We got the one for 4 large or 6 small chickens.  Seems plenty big enough for our 4 hybrids and 1 sablepoot.

The products have moved on a long way and been revamped both GFD and Solway maybe with hinsight it would be best to leave older posts to die. Thanks for the tip will keep in mind when veiwing older posts in the future.
