I went to the plot last night at about 8 oclock to do a bit of watering to be met with dissapointment.
I did my usual rounds checking all all the plants asking them if they are all ok and seeing if ther is anything  more i can do for them (comes from living in an all female house)   and there they were, almost all my goosberrys laid on the floor, i asked them what was wrong but no responce, i think they were all in a state of shock or they were just too young and hadn't learned to talk back to me in time before the had all fallen off their bushes (cordons actually).

Does anyone know what has happened, i water them regularly and there hasn't been a frost here for about a week and a half.

No idea - could they have been nibbled off by birds? Mine are OK through all the frost and snow so I don't think it could be that.
You may be off the gooseberry list for this year - I'm not sure they would flower again.

Mine are the same. The only ones left are sheltered under the bushes. They have been frosted.

No i don't think they'll flower again either.
I think i counted about 20 left on 10 double cordons  

Enough for a fruit salad i supose, but not enough for the gallon of gooseberry wine.

Mine look absolutely perfect though, not a mark on them.

I would have thought that they would look a bit brown or wrinkley?

How much rain have you had?  Have they been droughted?

Hmmmm, good point.
We've hardly had any rain, and i havn't watered as they are 4 years old so thought they were well established.

stompy, When I was walking back from my plot I noticed my immediate neighbours gooseberries are all on the floor. Loads of them. I went to the ground and even nibbled a fruit from the floor which was unripe and hard. no sign of rot, wither or anything. perfect unripe fruits all over on the floor. I felt so sorry for my neighbour. But I think it is due to the watering. Either over watered (not possible because I see my neighbours once in blue moon) or under watered.

never watered mine  this is first year of fruiting,,pound shop brand lol ,,, an they look good lots of fruit on them

Mine have been in situ for 5 years.

Never watered them. 40lb off 3 bushes last year.

Birds play havoc with mine if not netted and just pull them off.
