I think everyone likes 'real' free range eggs.

I am so going to enjoy this.  It gives me chance to indulge a hobby I enjoy knowing I need to produce surplus to satisfy the 'agriculture' rule.  Seems crazy that I don't have to sell them or make a profit, just show they are not all for personal use.

I have a feeling I am going to get hooked. ::)

If we are going to someones house for dinner etc I take some with me along, of course, with a bottle of vino.  I also give them to friends.  It really gives me great pleasure giving them to people. :)

Lol Wolverine - what makes me think that will be me in a week or two (or 3 or 4 or 5).  Always was one step ahead of myself.

Actually I think neighbours are a great idea.  Most of them will be really supportive of the field being used as a sanctuary and it would be a great way to say a small thank you.

I sell some, eat some, give some away to family and friends, give some to people on freecycle if they are kind enough to give me items, freeze some around October as the egg laying isn't so prolific over winter and bake  :)

I also pickle my excess eggs as well as sell, eat, cook and treat the dog occasionally too.  Hubby loves picled eggs and good for picnics and prezzies at Christmas in a nice bottle.  alison

I get 2 to 3 eggs a day (have 3 girlies) so dont really get surplus as my hubby eats them all   ,   I gave some to my neighbour the other day and she was delighted, trying to keep on her good side as my girlies run is right next to her garden, but i always spy her looking at them with her youngest child :tongue2: :tongue2:,   My youngest bailey has started to collect the eggs for me now, hes only 3 and gets rather excited and accidentely drops them or cracks them so we are having serious wasted problems           nickyx

We pickle them and then give to the local pub for the customers to dip into. When walking the dog, i know i can nip in for a free pint! You scratch mine...... ;)

You could also try freezing them - works well for cooking later, or my latest fad - egg pasta, which is wonderful and you can of course dry this (or freeze it) for when the hens aren't laying!
