Garlic- What now?
« on: May 14, 2010, 13:38 »
Ive just picked up a pack of seed-garlic from Wilco's, all half marked price including onion sets and seed pots.

The instructions on the pack are limited. There are three bulbs, I know I need to seperate the cloves for planting. It says plant Feb~May.

Am I leaving it a bit late to plant these?

Im guessing I plant them like onion sets, pointy side up with the tip just showing, six inches apart

Is there anything else I should know? Roughly, how long before they can be harvested?

Thanks.
We lived for days on nothing but food and water.

They need to be planted an inch down.

Ready when the foliage goes yellow!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Because you know they are disease free and are suitable for growing in our climate. Tesc* do not give you this guarantee.

I just got around x30 cloves (3 bulbs) for £1, that seems like a good deal to me! (if they all grow).

They need to be planted an inch down.

Ready when the foliage goes yellow!

So, an inch from tip to surface, got ya.

Its not too late then?

I know about the top's dying back, but when will this happen roughly? Autumn? next Spring?
