hello.... started my allotment last year it was a wreck! so did not plant much and what i did was stolen !!!! except the spuds! ..... now i am diggingover the area where they have grown what cani gorw there as i knw there are certain things you cant grow in the soil after taters.... forgive me but I am new at this, BUT idf do have Johns book !!! xxxxx

traditionally peas and beans go in after spuds, and then next year you plant the cabbage family there.

IMO it doesn't matter that much as long as you don't follow spuds with spuds

You could always plant pumpkin and join in the competition
