Will rabbits bother fleece tunnels??
« on: April 17, 2010, 16:37 »

I'm just about to have a good day down on me plot planting etc. Trouble is there's a lot of wabbits about!  :tongue2: :tongue2:

So, I haven't got wire netting up around beds (yet), but wondered if I used my fleece (in tunnel form first while plants are still young) 'til I got netting up, would the rabbits bother them??

And would it help if I buried the edges?

All you can do is try. Hard to tell with rabbits. Usually, if there's lots of other food around for them they won't bother crops, but that's also why they're called twicky wabbits  ;) Definitely bury edges in the soil

Well am back from plot, peas are in, and done what you've just suggested, bury the edges, I also put lengths of timber along the bury line just in case they dig, if they do, at least they hopefully won't damage/tear the fleece edge and then make it into a DOOR!!!
