My overwintered broad beans are producing masses of flowers. Can anyone tell me if they're self-pollinating, please? I'm concerned about insects getting in to pollinate because the bed is netted against pigeons on top and there's chicken wire all round!!!

The thing is that to a certain extent BBs are self pollinating like peas :) although you will get a better crop if bees can get at them.

As long as you haven't use very fine mesh they should be able to get in  :)

I've made gaps round the edge now and they can get through the lower chicken wire so all I need now are some bees!
Seen a few bumbles that come for the fruit blossom and spring flowers so keeping fingers crossed!
