Hi

After 3 long years I've just got my first plot. Its overgrown without fencing, its also on the boundary. Should the parish council provide fencing or do I?

Looking for top tips for clearing the weeds, how realistic is it to start growing anything this year?

To top it off, I'm 7 months pregnant with twins so I will delegating, so I need to come across like I know what I'm doing.

Any information regarding manure, top soil or whatever I need to get going will be greatly received.

No advice on the plot ( i dont have 1) but do have 16 month old twin girls. They are fantastic. Congratulations on both the plot and the twins

I'll move your post across to Grow Your Own so more people can see your questions.

Re the boundary, if none of the other plots on the boundary are fenced, I think you're unlikely to get any either.  If all the others are fenced, you might be in luck.  Parish council budgets are small, and they are not obliged to provide anything more than the space to grow, rather than anything else, I think (unfortunately).

When I first got my allotment it was July and we managed to grow some things so you should be fine.  Mind you, I wasn't pregnant with twins, good luck with that!  I am assuming/hoping that you have some help with the allotment!  At least you can start them off with an appreciation of Grow Your Own early in life!
