Advice regarding Brussels.
« on: March 26, 2010, 09:07 »
Good morning everyone.

We have finally got the key to our allotment. We're going to be spending the next week or so digging it over etc.

But i have sowed some seeds already that are growing on my windowsill. My peppers havent grown at all but everything else has. But my brussels are huge! By huge i mean lanky. They are about 8-10cms high with the 2 top leaves only. Is this ok? Some are so tall that they have fallen over.

Anyone got any advice? Should i scrap them and try again or keep going?

Sorry cjskts, doesn't sound too good for your Brussels, they've got very "leggy" at 8cms.  :(

Maybe best to start from scratch with them, they don't need heat to germinate or grow, mine are in an unheated greenhouse waiting to come through. They do grow for a loooong time  :)
Paul, Andrew, Kevin, Galen - My parents got bored of normal names in the end!

why not plant them out and see how they get on.......in the meantime sow some more?
its nice to be important, but it more important to be nice......
