Last Years Onions
« on: March 25, 2010, 07:00 »
Hi, I have just taken over a new plot so have alot to learn! There is not much left in what I have inherited but there is some spring onions, I have been told if I leave these in the ground they will grow to larger onions is this correct, or should I just pull up and start from scratch?

Do they look good enough to eat, i would try and see how they taste.  Im not sure on the leaving them will work as they might go to seed. will be interested in what's said.
Thanks
Kris

Some spring onion varieties will grow on if left.   I would definitely try them as they might be ready to eat. Don't just grub everything out, it's food  :D
