possibly but i put down slug pellets before i went away.

obviously its been raining a lot so it may have reuced the effect. they are stripped completely - and why haven't they touched the lettuce ?

i don't suppose i will be able to grow any cabbage or cauli this year unl;ess i go for winter cabbage ?

I'm having trouble with the brassicas too. I've got tiny pin prick holes in the collards, plus great big chomps out of the leaves. The other stuff I've planted is doing fine. I've just gone down now, scattered more bird friendly slug pellets down, plus a network of nylon string festooned with carrier bag prayer flags. Am wondering if I've actually brought them on and planted them out too soon. Should I go back to the seed packet and start again?
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

The big chomps sound like pigeons. They are a plague on our site. The only effective way to keep them off is netting. If the growing tip is still intact, you should be OK.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

What about the little pinprick holes - should I go get some Derris powder or spray?
