I’ve sowed some parsnip seeds directly outside under some fleece, I assume they will be ok as they are hardy? (even though they may take a while to germinate).

Not sown anything else but this thread has me slightly worried about these parsnips.

cheers

I'm more worried about how many people there are going around with bare bottoms!

Trouble with parsnips is that they need a long growing season to deliver the goods but also some warmth to germinate, which is why some people soak/chit/start them in cardboard tubes indoors etc.

I don't do that because I can't be ars*d (!); as long as you are using fresh seed you should be OK; don't start panicking for at least 4 weeks by which time you would still be in time to sow some more if they're not showing.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

They came up this morning!!!!!  :D :D :D Even with the rain and no covering. Hardy little chaps!

I'll sow some more this weekend!

We get frost til the second week in June

Good grief, where are you? Is your season longer in autumn or do you get early frosts as well?
