Feather/mite problem.

Hi to all. I am quite new to keeping Old English Game birds and have noticed my cockerel has no feathers under his chest area also he has frayed and ragged feathers along with
brown crab like mites on his vent area. I keep the house clean and treat for red mite.
I have been using a mite control on his vent area which has helped but I can't understand why his feathers are damaged. I have two cockerals who have lived happily together for two years along with three hens. Any advice really appreciated as I love the little critters their such characters and great fun to keep. some breeds are naked on the chest area often in a naked line down the centre.

Thank you the link was interesting, it is difficult to define what some of the creepies are on birds but I shall try the frontline and carry on with the mite powder. I have used Ivermectin previously and it is effective. The game birds seem more susceptible to mites
than chickens from my experience anyway.  What a great site this is so much help and advice,  my thanks to all those involved in it.
