I have planted so many red onions into one of my  2m x 1m raised beds. Spacing is as they should be. Now of course there is a lot of space between each of the rows of these onions - can things be planted inbetween those rows ie) radishes or beetroot?

In the past I have only planted sole veg in places on the plot without growing things in between and i have the space to plant beetroot, radishes etc elsewhere, but just wondering.

You could plant the beetroot but crop it while young, otherwise the rootspread of the onions and beets will start to compete later, unless you're going for small onions, in which case you can leave the beetroot in longer.

Personally I wouldn't because if you are looking for god sized bulbs to harvest they won't grow as well with crops competing for the same food.  You will not see a onion bed that is weedy for just that reason.

grow carrots in between the onion rows. It will help deter pests that you dont want.They help each other. Carrots deter onion fly and onions deter carrot fly.Its a type of companion planting thing
