I've seen some plastic chicken mesh on Harrod horticultures site.

Is it ok? i thought a fox would be able to chew through something like that

they will, use welded wire mesh the thickest you can afford - if buying from a metal merchants they will want to know what SWG you want - choose the lowest you can (the lower SWG the thicker the wire) but if buying from Hills of Devon or similar places they may just quote wire thickness so go for aound 14mm
