Eucryphia :)
Most of the year its just a plain upright tree with green leaves. You wouldn't give it a second glance.  Come August its flowers open and its the most beautiful sight, and at a time when a lot of other plants are going over.
I have a clematis going up through the branches and that helps to keep it interesting in its quieter months

D'you know, that was on the tip of my tongue! Honest!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Funny you should say that David.......

We were driving near the old polytunnel site this morning and called in to see if there were any more plants to rescue. We brought these two home, but don't know what they are again. :) Whilst up there, I took a picture of the conditions these poor plants have endured (and survived!) and one of the site in general.....

So, can you ID these plants? :)

Top one Senecio, has yellow daisy-like flowers in clusters.

Cant see second one good enough but looks like a broad bean bottom left

Oh yes Spana, I know the plant you mean. :) They are actually two of the same. I didn't put up a photo of the lupin we brought home (it had a label ).

The first possibly Senecio, the second could be Pyracanthus  but would need a better pic to be sure. :D

David the second wasn't for an ID, it was only to show the pile of plants these poor things were being rescued from. The first definitely has a whiteish underside to the leaves but quite a dark green top. Is this a valid colouration for Senecio or is it always just the lighter colour?

:)
