B&Q reduced sheds/greenhouses etc
« on: February 21, 2010, 08:16 »
Hi All
Just seen an ad in yesterday's paper: B&Q has some offers on its basic 6 x 4 shed (£89)and also greenhouses.  A 6 x 4 polycarbonate, aluminium frame greenhouse for £160.  Not bad!

Our local B&Q's had one of their 'on offer' sheds erected inside the building when I was there yesterday.... I could have knocked it down with my hat.
Cheap is[/b] cheap, I'm afraid.

They can be reinforced NigelB, I know that you get what you pay for but not everyone can afford top of the range so knowing how to improve what you can afford is one idea!

I was lucky (?) enough to be in B&Q last year when they had two 6x4 ex display sheds up for £50 each, with customer to dismantle.  I offered the manager £80 for both and he agreed!  I know have a shed and an about to be converted shed to chicken coop,  both for less than I would have paid for one!  I would never normally ask for something like this but this time I did and I was very pleased at the result!

I know they're not up to much, but for a lotty they're not bad.  I've got a similar one that I've anchored down.  It won't win prizes but it does the job. A new shed for £89 isn't bad

A bit of scrap wood , put some shelves up inside to brace it and your hat would be struggling to knock mine down.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

exactly!

i put a bench at the back of mine and braced the sides and its solid as ever.

loads of people have diy shop sheds on our site and with a bit of work are as good as the expensive ones

I had one in my last garden for all the kids garden toys - did the job and was still standing when we left after 8 years - for £89 you can't complain.
