Yield listing
« on: February 20, 2010, 17:27 »
Does anyone please know if there is a list anywhere which gives possible yeilds to be expected from different vegetables? I know that the end result will differ from one part of the country to another, plus all the usual variables. I would like to be able to get a reasonable idea of how much to plant and not go daft and end up with 100lbs of broad beans.

Thanks in advance.

The Dr Hessayon vegetable expert book has yield per row of a certain length.

But packets normally indicate spacing etc too
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

It would also depend on plant variety, soil condition, weather conditions and your feeding/watering system. :D

That is what I'm looking for. Is there a link to this reference or do you have a copy of it please?

It's not the spacing that I'm concerned with. It's the end quantity.

Andy135 - DrH's book is still in print - Amazon or most large High Street bookshops will stock it.

Search on Amazon or Google for the book.  It's one of most widely known range of books in the UK if not the world.  Or try your library.

I use my own copy so can't send it to you, sorry.  Also to post wholescale references from it would infringe copyright.

I wasn't trying to scrounge a copy of the book, I meant the info about crop yields. LOL!

I've just ordered a copy from amazon. And thanks all.  :tongue2:
