Sorry to open old posts but I found this whilst searching "tomatoes".

Did anyone have any success with this method or similar ?

Thanks

LOL thought I was seeing things there!!!  I never did get round to trying that out, as I just chop up and freeze my excess toms for over the winter for sauces etc, so never bothered.  Plus my garden sheds turned into chick brooder houses so I haven't got a shed anymore either!!!!

When tomatoes were first discovered they were perennial. Just a bit of useless information

What about trying this with the armpits that you take out of vine toms?

Pot them up [they root in a week], and grow on in pots outdoors and bring them in before the frosts and see if that works.

The problem will be if blight gets hold during late summer of course.

I've got loads of armpits - some potted up and some for a friend whose greenhouse contents were wiped out last week when he was on hols [the person asked to water everything must have done something really bad as he lost the lot], but I might keep potting them on as I remove them and try this.
