hi i recently decided to grow my own veg this year  and also new to this hobbie :-) i recently some early potato seeds from B&Q a few weeks back and they have been soft ever since! is this normal? also a couple had slight mold staring to gro so decided to throw these. Would be greatful for any advice. Thanks Karen

They do go a bit soft while they are chitting, because as they grow shoots they are using up the moisture from inside the seed potato.
But mouldy is not good

ooh thanks very much for that , i am so eager to get stuff started! i have recently prepared my potato plot but it so water logged at the min
