made the mistake of (on impulse) buying a few gooseberries from Wilkinsons...

at the same time I had ordered some from Rogers of Pickering.

The difference in quality is incredible.

The ones from Wilkos don't look like they'll survive

The ones from Rogers look like they'll thrive.

Very little difference in price.  So it's worth looking further than the local Wilkos for this sort of thing.
